We are NOW OFFERING DRIFT BOAT RENTALS on the Kenai River & Kasilof River as well! Sundays are closed to guided fishing on the Kenai River, so that leads to quieter activity overall as well, making it a great day to float the river. (Please note: August, Sept, Oct are open 7 days a week for power boats.) On the Kasilof River, Sundays are closed to guided fishing, so book early for Sundays and enjoy a great, quiet day on the river!
All Drift Boat Rentals from Kenai Riverfront depart from our fish camp at mile 17 (4 miles below the Soldotna Bridge in the area of Poacher’s Cove and Harry Gaines Fish Camp). We will pick you up at the end of your rental period at either the Alaska State Park Launch facility at the The Pillars or at the private launch facility at Eagle Rock, for no additional charge. This float will give you access to some of the best King Fishing on the lower Kenai River, including Harry Gaines 1/4 mile, Slide Hole, Porters, Airplane, Big Eddy, Stewart’s, Riverbend, Falling in Hole, Honeymoon Cove, Les Anderson’s World Record stretch, The Pillars, Blood Alley, Breakfast Bar, Toilet, and Eagle Rock! The rate for drift boat rentals is the same as power boat rentals, at $50/hour. Monday’s book fast for June & July so Book Online today!
Alaska State Parks require that you pass the Safety Orientation and carry a signed “Kenai River Boat Rental Pre-Departure Check” certification with you while operating a rental boat. There are no other licensing requirements necessary, but we only encourage experienced boaters to navigate the fast and active waters of the Kenai River. You must meet the minimum requirements for boating experience and successfully pass a check-ride on the Kenai River at the start of your rental period. Here is a Map of the Kenai River Special Management Area. More information can be found at the State of Alaska Office of Boating Safety website, and the Kenai River Special Management Area website.
