My long lost buddy Bobbie Michaelson and his lovely wife Annie arrived in camp this week off the Alaska Highway, moving back to the Greatland from Northern Minnesota for a piece and I’m not sure who’s happier about that — us or them! With a Red Salmon or two already in the ice box, several great meals together on the riverfront (thank you Annie!!), some Swiss language lessons on the riverfront, a couple of boat rides on the beautiful Kenai River, and a swim with the salmon plunge out of the Sauna X 2 (he lost his croc slipper and quit after just two plunges if you can believe it, but I rescued the shoe by swimming downriver and then plunged twice more just for the heck of it and to see how the fish count looked under water!). Ahh, good times are here again. Reminds me of the time on Mille Lacs with brother Swede, or the time Annie gave Cindy a chardonnay shower during our first comical cribbage match! Okay, back to fishing, check out these nice ones, but oh so many more to come on the end of both Bobbie & Annie’s lines I’m sure! We do have fun, don’t we?
“Swims With Salmon” Hoh wah!
About the Author: The Alaska Dream
Our family of six has been living the Alaska Dream on the world famous Kenai River for the past 15+ years, enjoying the bounty of the land & sea in everything we do! All of our children were born in Alaska, and both of us have lived here for 30+ years. We love sharing the Alaska Dream with visitors from around the corner and around the world and we especially love to help families and children catch their 1st salmon, halibut or rainbow trout and learn how to care for it all the way through the process of cooking it in delicious gourmet Alaska fashion. Enjoy reading our Alaska Fishing Report, Cooking Alaska Fish & Game, Alaska Photo of the Week and other sections of our website The Alaska Dream and we hope to have the chance to help you experience YOUR Alaska Dream someday too!
