The Smilin’ Sultz family of Chicago arrived on the Riverfront on the last day of July with two beautifully charming daughters who knew how to fish (and hunt I might add) and in no time they were fishing the Kenai River thanks to rental poles from the Snack & Tack and some of TJ & CJ’s now nearly famous Sockeye Flies!  All I can say is Chicago gets it. They followed the advice of fishing pros TJ & CJ, practiced the unusual and somewhat awkward technique for catching Sockeye, applied patience and persistence, and in the end caught some beautiful Red Salmon as their prize!  We were in the middle of dinner prep for our family but we couldn’t resist running down to the river each time another fish came up in the net to snap some very cool family photos with Kit, Cindy (aka CJ), Julia and Caroline–all smiles!  What a sweet but all too short time we shared and we hope this family will be back soon for more than just 1 night!
