How she landed this fish, her 1st Sockeye, we’ll never know…maybe it was her “swim with the salmon” in the Kenai River just earlier in the afternoon that brought on the luck, maybe it was her irresistible charm, maybe it was just plain fish destiny. Believe what you will, but this was a magical fish and a miraculous moment. Kay Osgood, from San Diego, took up the fight with this Sockeye with her family cheering on and while it ended in the net, we all first witnessed it make run after run back into the fast water before she coaxed it in, patiently, committing her full strength and determination. Once in the net, thanks to her son Ryan, we saw where the hook was in the corner of the mouth hanging by a thread because it had worn the poor fish’s lips out completely! So privileged to have enjoyed another moment with your family here on the Kenai River Kay….way to go!
Kay’s Miraculous Moment!
