Any day, any season, any occasion, this Alaska Blueberry pie will bring my family running!!  The secret is in the Alaska blueberries and in the crust, and like my family, they’re both one of a kind.

Ingredients for pie crust:

3 C Flour
1 1/2 C Shortening (1c crisco and 1 stick butter)
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
3 Tbsp Cold water (+/-)
1 Tbsp Sugar
Mix as pie crust, cut shortening into flour until crumbly. Beat 1 egg, water and lemon juice together in small bowl.  Then add to dry ingredience and work into a ball.  You may need to add a little more flour if too moist, or a little water if too dry.  Roll out and place in pie pan, reserving some for the top of the pie.

Ingredients for pie filling:

4 C Blueberries
1 C White sugar
1/3c Flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
*a sprinkle of cardimon if you like
Mix all together and set aside.

Preparation:

Put into pie crust and dot with butter.  Cover with top crust and cut slits in top.  Sprinkle lightly with white sugar or sugar crystals.  Bake at 400 degrees until browned-cover lightly with tin foil to keep from getting too brown if needed.  Continue to bake until bubbly, about 45-55 minutes for a 9 inch pie.  Don’t be afraid to turn the temperature down a bit more if pie is getting too brown too fast.  Let it cool, cut and serve with vanilla ice cream, for breakfast, mid day pick me up, dessert or midnight snack.  Anytime is the right time!
